Cortisone infiltration
Fluoroscopy-guided cortisone infiltration is a medical procedure where a specialist radiologist uses real-time X-ray imaging to precisely guide the injection of cortisone into a joint. Cortisone is a powerful anti-inflammatory medication that aims to reduce pain and inflammation within the treated joint.

Clarke's cortisone injection procedure
You'll be comfortably positioned on the exam table so that the joint being treated is clearly visible under our fluoroscopy device. After careful disinfection of the skin, local anesthesia will be administered for greater comfort. The procedure is carried out by a radiologist. Using fluoroscopy, we will guide the needle precisely towards the joint. A little contrast may be injected to confirm correct positioning before injecting the cortisone. Once the injection is complete, the needle will be removed and a small bandage applied. The procedure is quick, generally lasting between 15 and 30 minutes.

Please present a valid prescription and your original RAMQ card for each exam. Without a RAMQ card, fees will apply.
